"It's not about me, it's about my people" -Iwodi F. Iwodi
Benue: As local government elections comes underway in Benue State, Ogbadibo Local Government chairmanship hopeful, Hon. Iwodi Friday Adogo, has told New-Nigeria Reporters' correspondent that he is into the Ogbadibo LG chairmanship race to better the lot of the people of the local government.
Speaking to NNR correspondent via telephone interview, Hon. Iwodi said "It is not about me, it is about my people, it is about service to my father-land. I believe, if am given the opportunity, the impacts I will make would outlive many generations to come."
Hon. Iwodi who declined speaking on past government's achievement at the Ogbadibo local government council, said he is ready to give a concrete, visionary policy direction anchored on selflessness that would see Ogbadibo on the path to sustainable progressive development. Hon. Iwodi said his government will focus on critical infrastructures like roads creation and construction, youth integration, agriculture, social amenities like enhancing markets standard and bringing investors to the council area for economic expansion. He said "Go to places like Atlanta, you'd see Airports built by a local government council. It has great economic effect. Local governments can construct roads for her people to have easy access in transporting their farm produce and other valuables to their choice market. I hope to set a standard that would put Ogbadibo in the frontline of development in Benue State and in Nigeria. We are blessed with great natural resources but we need vision to be able to harness it and earn reasonably from those God-given resources."
When asked of when he is going to publicly declare for the position, he said his people will decide that at the end of his ward by ward consultation which is currently ongoing. Hon. Iwodo F. Adogo is a chairmanship aspirant for Ogbadibo Local Government Council of Benue State under the All Progressives Party (APC) platform.
