The wife of an Ondo-based pastor, Mrs Doris Oseni has reportedly caught her husband having sex with a female member right on the floor of the church office. The 42-year-old woman, also an Evangelist, pleaded for a dissolution of her 12-year-long union with Prophet Femi Oseni, 45, at a Customary Court sitting in the state.

The basis of her divorce suit ranged from adultery, desertion and lack of love on the part of the husband. The court further heard how the pastor’s behaviour towards his wife changed after seven years of their marriage with no child. The woman explained that her husband started sleeping around with different women, most of whom were their church members.
According to Mrs Oseni, her husband had abandoned her for several days until she finally decided to search for him only to make the heartbreaking discovery at his church in a village not far from Ondo town.
She said she reported her husband’s strange behaviour to his mother but could not be stopped from his adulterous acts, saying she was fed up with the relationship. The aggrieved woman further disclosed that her husband’s infidelity lifestyle produced a child out of wedlock.
The pastor on his part, however, pleaded with the court not to dissolve the marriage, saying he still loves the woman, whom he described as a virtuous woman that had been taking care of him since he married her.
The President of the Court, Joshua Adunbi, ruled that Mrs Oseni’s words and body language were clear indications that she was fed up with the marriage and therefore ordered that her plea be granted by the court.Adunbi stated that both parties were free to remarry any person of their choice and ordered the petitioner to pay the sum of N2,500 to the respondent as a refund of dowry. The court president further stated that the ruling could be appealed within 30 days by any of the parties who is not satisfied with the court’s decision.
